A. Information You Provide Directly
- Account Registration: Name, username, email address, phone number, and account password.
- Profile Details: Profile avatar, cover photo, bio, location (country and state), and optional social links.
- User Generated Content: Posts, photos, videos, reels, moments, comments, stickers, and reactions you publish.
- Communications: Direct messages, group messages, voice notes, and media attachments sent within our messaging system.
- Payout & Banking Details: If you participate in creator earnings or ad campaigns, bank account information (bank name, account number, beneficiary name) is collected solely to process cash withdrawals.
B. Device & Technical Information
When you use our mobile or web apps, we automatically record:
- Device model, manufacturer, and operating system version.
- IP address, approximate network location, and browser type.
- Push notification tokens (e.g. Expo / Firebase Cloud Messaging) to alert you about incoming calls and messages.
- Log data including session timestamps and error logs to debug and improve app stability.
C. Device Permissions Requested by the Mobile App
Our mobile application requests the following permissions for specific features:
- Camera (
CAMERA): Required when you take photos/videos, start a live video broadcast, or participate in video calls. - Microphone (
RECORD_AUDIO): Required when you record voice notes, participate in voice/video calls, or host live audio streams. - Photos & Media (
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES,READ_MEDIA_VIDEO): Required to select images, videos, and files from your device to share in posts or chat. - Contacts (
READ_CONTACTS, Optional): Only requested if you choose to find friends already using Karaads. Phone numbers are matched anonymously and are never stored or sold. - Notifications (
POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used to deliver incoming call alerts, direct messages, and activity updates.
03. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- To operate and maintain the Karaads social network, messaging, and live streaming services.
- To enable real-time WebRTC audio and video calling between users.
- To process earnings, subscriptions, and verified creator payouts.
- To detect, investigate, and prevent spam, account takeovers, fraudulent activity, and violations of our Community Guidelines.
- To send important service announcements, security codes (OTP / 2FA), and customer support responses.
- To personalize your feed experience based on accounts and topics you choose to follow.
04. Data Sharing & Third-Party Service Providers
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only share data with trusted third-party service providers who assist in operating our platform, under strict data protection agreements:
- Real-Time Calling Infrastructure: Real-time audio and video sessions utilize WebRTC infrastructure (e.g. LiveKit) to route media streams directly between call participants.
- Cloud Media Storage: User uploads (images, videos, attachments) are stored on encrypted cloud object storage.
- Payment & Payout Gateways: Banking details for payouts are processed by licensed financial technology partners compliant with PCI-DSS regulations.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required by applicable law, court order, or official governmental request to protect user safety and security.

We implement comprehensive technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. - Account & Data Deletion: You have the right to permanently delete your account and erase all associated data. You can submit an account deletion request directly through our dedicated portal at /account-deletion.
- Revoke Permissions: You can revoke camera, microphone, or contact permissions at any time through your mobile device system settings.
07. Children's Privacy
Karaads is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under 13. If we discover that a user under 13 has registered without verified parental consent, we will immediately terminate the account and purge their data from our systems.
